Your needs aren't one-size-fits-all. Neither are our services.
We work with each member to find the best content and solutions for their programs at a price that meets their budget.
We don't just sell a service; we build a relationship.
We want to get to know you so that we can make sure your library resources and services are the right fit for your school's programs and your students' need.
We work with schools of all sizes and types, from trade schools to postgraduate medical and business programs, to build a collection of resources that fit their programs and their students' preferred learning styles. A technical trade school, for example, may not require general education materials, but would benefit from video content.
Put the power of volume purchasing to work for you.
Subscribing to library content from a single vendor can start at $7,500 per year for a single database. By joining LIRN, you can leverage the power of volume licensing to reduce that cost to a $1,000 annual membership fee plus the cost of your subscriptions. Our members typically spend between $5 and $20 per student per year for a more diverse collection of content than they could get on their own.
LIRN’s annual membership fee is $1,000 per year, and provides you with:
- access to discount pricing
- a portal complete with an alphabetical, subject and vendor-oriented lists of resources
- a proxy server that allows your students, faculty, and staff to easily access your library content while on or off campus
- a federated search engine to help your users find the content they are looking for
- and access to our experienced technical support staff

Most of LIRN’s subscription resources are priced based on the number of enrolled students at your institution. When submitting the subscriptions to our vendors, they expect us to use the enrollment numbers as reported to the IPEDS Data Center each year.
For members who do not report to IPEDS, the vendors ask for a letter from the institution’s registrar or bursar confirming the enrolled students using the same methodologies used to complete the IPEDS report: the unduplicated count of students enrolled for the 3 month period of August 1st through October 31st.
LIRN has no paper contracts.
Proof of LIRN membership and subscription to online resources is your latest quote, invoice, and paid receipt. Mail firstname.lastname@example.org and we can send all of them to you in a single document.
LIRN’s Terms and Conditions can be found at the bottom of every quote document that is sent, as well as on our website.
