Benjamin Williams, MSLS

Mr. Benjamin Williams is the administrative head of a multi-university library system serving three institutions and more than 20,000 students. He has over thirty-five years of experience in academic libraries that includes library operations in the United States, China, Moldova, and Nicaragua. Mr. Williams is the Associate Vice Chancellor of the Kiser University Library system, a role he has held for 31 years.

Mr. Williams has a BA in Russian Language and Culture, a BA in Humanities and a MS in Library Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. In addition, Mr. Williams has served as both an on-site and off-site evaluator for The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), an educational accreditor recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Mr. Williams has been a LIRN Board member since 1998 and served as the Chair of LIRN’s Board of Directors from 2015 to 2024. He counts contributions to the re-writing of LIRN’s Bylaws, and the inception of LIRN’s On-line Librarian Service among his contributions to the organization and is a tireless advocate of LIRN. In his spare time, Mr Williams is a collector of antique victrolas, gramophones and phonographs and the cylinder and 78 RP disc records these wind-up machines play.
