Dr. Anne Casey, AMLS, PhD

Dr. Anne Marie Casey retired in 2023, as the Hunt Library Director at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) in Daytona Beach, Florida after over 40 years working as a professional librarian. Before joining ERAU, she was the Associate Dean of Libraries at Central Michigan University. She also held positions in the libraries of National University in San Diego, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and the Springfield (MA) City Library.
Currently, Dr. Casey provides consulting services for libraries and library organizations related to strategic planning, organizational development, and leadership development. She has worked for many years in libraries that provide services to distance learners and has focused much of her research in that area of librarianship. She has also been involved in the role of libraries in open-access scholarly publishing. Under her leadership, the ERAU Hunt Library successfully developed an institutional repository and textbook affordability initiative and launched an e-textbook publishing platform.
Dr. Casey earned a doctoral degree at Simmons University, a Master of Arts in Library Science at the University of Michigan, a Master of Arts at The Catholic University of America, and a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is the 2007 ACRL/Haworth Press Distance Learning Librarian Award recipient. Dr. Casey is a member of the American Library Association, the Florida Library Association, and the Florida Association of College and Research Libraries.
